The Metra COPS Safety and Security App provides riders with a convenient and confidential method to report safety and security concerns directly to the police. With this app, users can easily send photos, videos, text descriptions, and locations of suspicious individuals or activities. The home screen of the app offers two simple options for contacting the police:

• The "Report an Issue" button allows users to send texts or photos directly to the police. To ensure confidentiality, the app disables the camera flash when taking photos. Users can select specific locations and report categories to assist law enforcement. Additionally, riders have the option to submit reports anonymously.
• The "Call 911" button immediately connects users with emergency services.

This application is designed to operate reliably even in areas with weak signal strength. Reports sent from areas without cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity are stored and sent automatically once connectivity is restored. The system prioritizes sending text descriptions ahead of photos, allowing law enforcement to access information as quickly as possible.

Additional Features:

• BOLO (Be On the Look Out) Alerts: Metra COPS may display alerts issued by the police regarding specific persons of interest. These alerts may include information about missing individuals or children, such as their last known whereabouts. If you encounter someone from a BOLO alert, discreetly report it through the app and immediately call 911.
